FILZKUNST-WANDERWEG
About the organizers:
A few words about the people behind the project:
Michaela Kunzfeld – I am the initiator of this project and have taken over the creative part:
In 2014, I completed my three-year training in felting at the Oberrot felting school. Before and after that, I attended numerous training courses. When working with wool, I love the variety of colours, the infinite possibilities of design and the tranquility that this activity brings. I love having a choice between planning everything or just getting started. My favorite topics in felting are mixed media techniques as well as surface design. I have been working as a travel agent for over 30 years, which I also enjoy a lot. (www.filz-kunzt.at)

Monika Reindl – my knowledgeable co-organizer:
Sheep farmer since 1994, from Edelsbach bei Feldbach in the Styrian Vulkanland region (Volcanic Land). Since 2000, she has learned different felting techniques in various courses. Since 2004, she has been the chairwoman of the Wollgenuss (wool passion) association. Since 2001, she has been working as a museum assistant at the Weltmaschine (world machine), where the Wollgenuss yurt is located. From the very beginning, her desire was to show and convey the value of local sheep's wool – the wonderful renewable raw material that can be found right in front of our doorstep. Monika was one of my first felting teachers: www.wollgenuss.at
My municipality, Kainbach bei Graz, takes care of the bureaucratic part:
Our mayor Matthias Hitl, as well as the board members and the employees in our community, provide the very best support our project could wish for! Everyone is highly motivated and looking forward to the opening day! Employees of the municipality felted also a chain of flags.
The active support for art has always been a high priority in our community. For example, a well-known craft market has taken place on the Taggerhof.
Together, we took care of the not inconsiderable rest between creativity and bureaucracy.😊
